Baby Monitor

うちの使っているベービーモニターはこちら。
このモニターのおかげで，私の生活はかなりラクチンに。
毎朝、8:30-9:00AMの間に朝のお昼寝で眠ってしまうルーちゃん。
このモニターのおかげで，ママは朝ご飯をモリモリ食べながら
iPhoneでメールのチェックをしています。
私の朝ご飯のテーブルにはこのモニターがかならずあります。
We use this baby monitor at home.
This monitor is so amazing that it make our life so much easier.
Usually, L fall asleep between 8:30AM-9:00AM in the morning, so
while I am eating my breakfast and checking e-mail on my iPhone,
I set up this monitor in the kitchen table



このモニターの良いところは、スピーカーがあるので、赤ちゃんの声がよく聞こえる事。
泣き出したらすぐにわかるのでとても便利です。
モニターは自動に昼間がカラー、夜は白黒になります。
子守唄の音楽を流したりもできます。
One of the feature I like about this monitor is that
you can hear the sound.
Once L started to cry, I can rush to the room right away.
Also, the monitor screen is in color during day time and
switch to black and white automatically at night.
It also has a walkie-talkie feature as well as you can play
lullaby through the monitor. Amazing!

ちょっと、高いけど，これはかなりオススメで、
これはあって大正解でした。
お洗濯している時とか，忙しくしていても赤ちゃんの様子が
見れて聞こえると精神的にも安心だものね。
It was a bit expensive, but I feel like it is worth it!
It is so useful and I am glad that we bought one!
Even I am doing laundry or doing something,
it is nice to know that I can always monitor her sleeping.

Bumboの椅子

最近、首がもう少しで座りそうなので、
この時期に、みんながよく使っているBumbo（バンボ）の
椅子を試してみたくなったところ、ちょうど子供が
９ヶ月になるお友達から、『もう使わないからあげる。』っと言って
バンボの椅子を譲ってもらいました。
こちらが、そのバンボの椅子。
プラスチックというか、柔らかいクッションのような質感で、
お尻がピッタリはまって体を固定してくれます。
なので、ベービーバウンサーよりも、
もっと背筋がピンとして座れる感じ。
L's neck can sit really soon and a lot of our friends use
Bumbo chair for baby in L's age, so we wanted to try it.
Luckily, our friends have a 9 months old and they do not
need it anymore, so they gave it to L.
This is the Bumbo chair for L.
It is not really like plastic seat, but more soft one and
her cute butt can fit in perfectly.
It make baby sit more upright position than baby bouncer seat.


初めて座って、周りをキョロキョロして見ているルーちゃん。
目線も変わるし，楽しいみたい。
ちょっと、緊張している小指がかわいいねえ。。。
This is L's first time to sit and she is looking around the new view.


あー、このホッペタ、可愛すぎる！

これから、この椅子の活躍が楽しみです！
I am excited about this new seat! Hopefully we will use it more often!

暖かい冬。

今年の冬は、いつもの年と比べると、全然暖かいボストン。
去年の今頃は，１５年ぶりの大雪でこんな感じだったのに，
今年のボストンはまだ３回くらいしか雪が降っていなく，
しかも恒例よりも全然暖かかったので、雪が降ってもすぐに
溶けてしまっています。
Boston had record high snow fall last winter around this time,
but this year, we barely had snow.
I think we had only 3 times or so, but since the weather is so warm,
all snow melted away already.

昨日の最高気温は13℃！！！だったボストン。
いつも、これくらいだと最高気温が１℃くらいだから、
暖かいこと，暖かいこと！！！！
昨日はあんまりにもいいお天気だったのでルーとお散歩へ。
ポカポカしていて、キャリアーでルーちゃんのことを
抱えていたら、２人とも汗が出てくるほど。。。
結局，私は長袖１枚で歩いてました。。。
信じられない暖かさ！
これは、もう雪なんて溶けちゃっているボストンの様子。
この調子じゃ、春がすぐ来てしまう！
早く、ガーデニングの準備をしなくては。。。
Yesterday's temperature was high in 56F!!! in Boston.
Usually, it about １℃(35F) in Boston around this time,
I felt it is like March. SO warm! I can't believe it!
It was so nice outside, so me and L went for a long walk.
I was using a baby carrier, but the end up it was too hot
and I had to take off my jacket.
I just can't believe how warm this year is!
I love it!
All snow from last Saturday is already gone too.
Since it is so warm already, I have to hurry to get
ready for the spring gardening soon!

After 4 months

4ヶ月経って、体重も出産前のころと同じくらいに戻ったので
写真に撮って出産後すぐの時の写真と比べてみました。
It has been 4 months since I gave birth to L and
my weight is finally back to normal, so I took
photo of myself and compared it today.


このところ数週間、風邪を引いて咳が止まらなかったり，
ジェイクのご両親の家に行っていたりと，走っている時間がなかったので
今日からまた、走るのを再開しました。
常に，るーちゃんのためにも健康でいたいと思っています。
I had cold and could not stop coughing for awhile
and also, we went to Jake's parents house, so
I did not have a chance to run for few weeks.
I start to run again from today.
I want to keep up with my healthy lifestyle that
I had before baby time.
I think being healthy is good for me and L anyway.

ようやく！

ルーちゃんが産まれる前から、赤ちゃんができたら
『このベービーキャリアーで赤ちゃんを前向きにして
お出かけに行きたい！』って思っていたのですが，
今日，それが実現したので、うれしくって写真を撮りましたー。
こちらが、図書館へ本を返しにいく予定の私とルーちゃん。
ちなみに、ルーちゃん、とっても楽しかったみたいで，
とてもご機嫌だったので，帰り道はちょっと
寄り道とかして長い道のりで家まで帰って来ました。
これから、前向きのルーちゃんとのお出かけが楽しみ。
それにしても、ルーちゃん、重くなってきた。。。。
ちなみに帽子は妃奈ちゃんから。
ストライプのはママから。
Me and Jake always wanted to carry baby
in front and walk around even before
L was born, but our dream finally came true!
I had to return some books at library, so
I decided to carry L in baby carrier.
She loves the new view and very happy,
so I took long way to come home.
By the way, she is so heavy now these days...

本を読むルーちゃん。

最近は，支えがあれば何となく座れるようになってきたので、
ソファーに座らせてあげました。
こうすると、いつもとは違った景色で、楽しそう。
これは、一人で本を読んでいるルーちゃん。
足が，かわいいよね。
でも、だんだんずれてきている。。。。
L can sit alone if she has supports, so sometimes
I put her on the couch with pillows so that
she can sit up and enjoy different views.
This is L reading book alone.
I love her cute feet and toes!

後少しで。。。

後もう少しで首が座りそうなルーちゃん。
今日は，去年に姉からお祝いでもらった
赤ちゃん用の椅子の準備をしました。
あと何週間かで、みんなでテーブルに一緒に座って
ご飯が食べれるようになるね。楽しみだわ。

We got Tripp Trapp chair as a gift from my sister
and so we set it up on this afternoon to get ready.
Soon, we can all have meal together at dining table!
I am very looking forward for that day!

こちらは、お昼寝から起きてきたルーちゃんに椅子に座ってもらいました。
まだ、押さえていないと，首がカクンってなっちゃうけれども，
もう少しで座れそうな感じだね。

Her neck is not just sit yet, so we have to hold her
in order to take this photo, but she is almost there!

雪の日

今日は，ボストンの方でも雪でした。
パパに外の景色をみせてもらうルーちゃん。
It was snow in Boston in this afternoon.

お食い初め

先週の日曜日はるーちゃんの１２０日目だったので、お食い初めをしました。
本当は１００日目にやろうかと思ったのですが，その頃ちょうど
姉一家が来ていてバタバタしていて、
全然お食い初めについて勉強をしていなかったのと、
ちょうど私の両親からクリスマスプレゼントで
お食い初めの物をいただいたので
その食器を使ってお食い初めをジェイクとしました。
We had a traditional Japanese ceremony
for baby called the Weaning Ceremony.
This ceremony called Okuizome is performed in hopes
that the child would never have to worry about food.
It is also called Hashi Hajime, Hashi Soroe or Hagatame.
Although this may differ slightly by region,
the Okuizome usually occurs 100 days after birth
when the child starts to eat baby food.
Some regions may do this on the 110th ~ 120th day.
The baby only pretends to eat the food in this ceremony.
We were busy when L was 100 days old, so we did on
this past Sunday when it was 120 days old.
One of the interesting is that we pretended to give her
a rock. This is a wish that she will have strong teeth like
rock for the future.
My parents send me Okuizome dishes for L for her
Christmas gift, so we did this ceremony on this past Sunday.

I hope L will like many different food and never have to
worry about food in the future.

もうすぐ生後４ヶ月。

るーちゃん、もうすぐで生後４ヶ月になります。
時が経つのって早いねえー。
L will be 4 months old in this month.
I can't believe it has been 4 months already.
The time flew by so quickly!

最近のルーさんの成長といえば，この前初めて声を出して笑ってくれました！！
前から，洗濯物を畳んでいる時に「いない、いない、ばー！」って
やっていたんだけれども，なかなか反応が無くって、るーちゃんも
『？？？？』って感じでよそ見をされたりしていたのですが，
この前やったときは、２回目くらいで
『あー！！なるほどね！！』って顔をしてくれてその後、
ケタケタケタ！って笑ってくれました。
何回かやってみても、やっぱり「いない、いない、ばー」の事を
理解してくれて、おもわず、私の方がうれし泣きをしてしまいました！
乾いたばかりの洗濯物で涙を拭いている私をみて、まだ続けて笑ってました。
でも、こんなささいなことでも、『私みたいなお母さんでも
ちゃんと私の赤ちゃんは成長しているんだ！』って実感できて、
子育てって，本当に楽しいなっと実感しています。
So, There are few development in L's growth now these days.
First thing was, she finally understood "Peek-a-Boo!" and laugh aloud!
I tried "Peek-a-Boo!" many times before, but she did not quit understood
what I was doing, but the other day while I was folding laundries,
I tried "Peek-a-Boo!" again and this time she did get it!
After second times or so, she had this look in her face that saying
" Mommy, I got it!! AND this is funny!!!!!" and she started to
laugh aloud each time I did "Peek-a-Boo!".
I was soooooo happy to see that and also I was waiting to hear
her laughing, I started to cry while I was smiling at her.
L was of course laughing at me while I was crying and wiping my eyes with
day clothes.
I know it is a such a small thing, but I found those everyday small
thing make me realized that I am doing OK as a mom and
reminds me how fun and enjoyable to have a baby!


She is so close to almost roll over from this position too.
この体勢から寝返りがあともう少しでできそうな感じです。


お腹をしたにすると、頭を長い間持ち上げる事ができるようになりました。
首が座るのもかなり時間のうちだね。
She can held her head up while tummy time too.
I think her neck will sit soon!


やっぱり、本を読むのは大好きで、毎日パパかママに本を読んでもらっています。
グズッたりする時に、本を読んであげると、もの凄い集中力です！
She loves reading books with us!
We tried to read books almost everyday.

Vegitarian/ Vegan Diner in Boston

Last fall, Vegetarian/Vegan diner called Veggie Galaxy
opened in Central Sq, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
We went there once before and we loved it, but we got a gift card,
so we went there again for brunch in this morning.
This diner is very kids friendly and they do have kids menu too.
There are many family with small kids in this diner in this morning too.
Here are some photos of our Vegan Brunch.
去年の秋にベジタリアン／ビーガンのダイナーが
ケンブリジのセントラルにオープンしたので
今日，行ってきました。今日で２回目。
クリスマスプレゼントでギフトカードをもらったので、それを使って
ブランチを頂きました。
子供用のメニューもあるし、大勢で行っても大丈夫だし，
じゅんこさん、ここ、お勧めですよー。
ベビーカーで行っても、ベービーカーがつけられるテーブルに
連れて行ってくれるし！

Can you believe all of those foods on my plate are Vegan?
I got this is Vegan omelet which looks like regular omelet,
but it is Vegan and egg-looking part is actually made
by flour of some kind. It is soooooo delicious too!
こちらが私達が頼んだビーガンのオムレツ！卵なしのオムレツですが、
かなり美味しかったです。






While we are eating..... as usual.....
そして、私達がご飯を食べている時は，いつもこんな感じ。。。
楽だわー。

抜け毛

産後２か月目あたりから、髪の毛の抜け毛が凄くなってきました。
今なんて，お風呂に入って髪の毛を洗うことにゴゾッと沢山髪の毛が抜けたのが
たまっていて，かなり恐ろしいくらいです。
本などでは，だいたい産後２か月目位から、期間が長い人では
赤ちゃんが１歳になるくらいまで、髪の毛が抜けるのはあるらしいけれども、
私の場合，どれくらいまで続くのでしょうか。。。
髪質が変わったのも、気になるところです。
とてもゴワゴワしていて、固い髪の毛の感じ。
お母さんになった人で、私みたいに髪の毛が抜けた人はいますか？

Around 2 months after giving birth, I have been loosing my hair.
Each time after taking shower, I got handful of hair in drainage and
it is freaking me out a lot.
In books, they said that it will happened between 2 months after
postpartum until 1 year old or so.
I wonder how long mine will continue....
I also noticed that my hair became more dry and hard too.
Is there any mother who experiences the same problem
like I did out there??

水族館へ

We went to Aquarium on New Year's Eve day.
We haven't been to Aquarium for awhile, so I was very excited to go.
I also wanted to take my niece there for a long time, so
I am glad that we went! It seemed like she had a great time there!!
大晦日の夜はみんなで水族館へ行ってきました。
私達も水族館は久しぶりでした。
ずーっと姪っ子がボストンに来た時には是非、連れて行ってあげたかったので
みんなで水族館に行けてよかったです。
姪っ子も楽しんでたみたいで，よかったです。
